Yescarta is a highly effective CAR T-cell therapy primarily used for treating specific types of lymphoma. In 2018, Fosun, a major Chinese pharmaceutical company, formed a joint venture with Kite Pharma named FosunKite Bio. This collaboration facilitated clinical trials of Yescarta in China, and in July 2021, Yescarta received approval from the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for commercial use in China, making it the first CAR T-cell therapy product approved in the country.
Yescarta is developed by Kite Pharma (a Gilead subsidiary), it received U.S. FDA approval in October 2017 for the treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). In March 2021, Yescarta’s indication was expanded to include follicular lymphoma (FL).

In China, Yescarta is only provided at certified treatment centers, these centers/hospitals usually are leading hospitals in the region, where the medical staff are highly skilled in managing lymphoma, and are specially trained to take care of you during the entire CAR T-cell therapy process.
You should plan to stay at the certified treatment center for at least one week following the infusion, and you’ll have several appointments before and after the treatment. Your treatment team will advise you on how close you need to be to a certified healthcare facility during the first four weeks after the infusion.
